Zoom son dances to the top of the price list

Dressage youngsters and broodmares arouse high interest in Westphalia

Münster: 27 youngsters and four broodmares predispositioned for were for sale this evening at the Westphalian Stud Book. A strikinkly marked son of the state stud stallion Zoom aroused the greatest desire among customers. The stallion changed hands for 40,000 euros. The most popular broodmare was a daughter of Sir Heinrich in foal to Vision. She cost 14,500 euros.

Shortly before the main licensing in three weeks, youngsters and broodmares predispositioned for dressage shone in the spotlight this evening at the Westphalian Stud Book. Already in the days leading to the auction, the head number 7 Zaraphino aroused high interest in the social networks of the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch. The Zoom/Florestan I son (breeder and exhibitor: Christine Rethemeyer, Lengerich) attracted the attention of the customers with his extremely eye-catching markings and generous movements. In an exciting BidUp between Germany and the USA, the customers from Germany had the most staying power in the end. They secured the winning bid for 40,000 euros.  Almost cracking the 30,000 euro mark at the end of the auction was head number 27. Vanderbilt is a stallion from the first vintage of the sire Vaderland. His dam Donna Wenita by Fidertanz is a full sister to the licensed and Grand Prix successful Foundation. Vanderbilt changed to Dutch ownership at the hammer price of 29,000 Euros. Three quarters of the youngsters on offer found a new owner this evening. Ten of these will start their dressage careers in seven different countries outside of Germany. On average, the international clientele invested 15,363 Euros in their young star for the dressage ring. Thus, the youngsters sold this evening turned over a total of 307,250 euros. Four of the two-year-olds sold cracked the 20,000 euro mark.

The lot of two-year-old youngsters was joined by four broodmares. All are in foal to promising sires. Head number 10 Soraya by Sir Heinrich/Jazz Rubin (breeder: Josef Pottbäcker, Kerken) is well acquainted with the Westphalian auction floor. At the 2017 foal auction, she changed hands to her exhibitor Alojz Novak, Slovenia. In foal to Vision, the young stallion of the Beckmann station, the bay now changed hands to customers from Great Britain for 14,500 euros. All four broodmares on offer changed hands for an average price of 8,688 Euros.

In exactly three weeks, the stallion sales for dressage stallions will take place in Münster-Handorf. The auction will be held as an OnLive auction. Bids can be submitted live on site in the auction hall as well as online. The licensing lot of the dressage and jumping stallions can be viewed online as of Tuesday, November 15.
